The city

The Italian city of Milan, situated in the country’s North, is considered one of the most important cities in Europe; furthermore Milan is known for being one of the fashion capitals of the world.

To enjoy this city the best thing to do is to take a walk through the centre whilst admiring the architecture and art that awaits you at every turn.

What is there to do in Milan?

– Admire the impressive Gothic Milan Cathedral with its Neo-Gothic façade. It is one of the most famous cathedrals in Europe. Stroll down the Vittorio Emanuele galleries until arriving at the Della Scala Square.

– Visit the Pinacoteca di Brera (Brera Art Gallery), where you can find some of the most famous paintings, like “Saint Francis in Prayer” or the portrait of the painter Rembrandt’s sister, by El Greco.

– Go shopping, which should be a given as Milan has a lot to offer in terms of fashion. The most exclusive boutiques can be found on Via Montenapoleone or on Via della Spiga.

– Go for an “aperitivo”, which is typically Italian, at around seven in the evening. “Aperitivo” consists of a drink (or several) and eating anything you want for free (you will find a buffet from which you can take as much as you want). The area around the Pinacoteca di Brera (Brera Art Gallery) is a great place to go for a drink and to immerse yourself in the fantastic atmosphere generated by the buzzing life in the streets.
